Come to Sturgeon Bay for sparkling, holiday fun November 17-19. Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center turns on the holiday charm during the annual Christmas by the Bay celebration with a weekend of family-friendly activities.

Join friends and neighbors at the tree lighting ceremony Friday night, 6-8 p.m. at the Clock Tower on Third Avenue. Bring a gently used winter clothing item for the county wide Big Bundle Up Campaign. All items collected will go to Door County charitable partners.

Musicians Josh Gregory, Hervy Hodges, and Mike Raye will entertain with classic holiday tunes, and members of the Sturgeon Bay High School choir will carol along Third Avenue. The lights go on at 7 p.m.

Meander through the City streets on a horse-drawn wagon ride from 6-8 p.m. (Festivities compliments of Cellcom and Nicolet National Bank).

Beginning Friday, children are invited to send their letters to Santa via the mailbox located outside the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, 36 S. Third Avenue.

Decorate the floats, put on your best holiday attire and enjoy Sturgeon Bay’s Holiday Parade, on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The parade marches from Sawyer Park up Oak Street to Madison Avenue, turns right at Maple Street and moves across the Oregon Street Bridge. Paraders will make their way down Third Avenue and end after the intersection of Third Ave. and Jefferson St. in the Bay Shipbuilding parking lot.

To be part of the parade, contact the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center or fill out an entry form. Participation in the Christmas by the Bay Holiday Parade is free.

Meet Santa and take family pictures with him after the parade at the Door County Historical Museum, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Door County Trolley and horse-drawn wagon rides available 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (compliments of Nicolet National Bank, Door County Eye Associates and Sherry’s Hallmark Shop).

Spend more time with Santa on Sunday, from 9-11 a.m. during a special breakfast at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center.
